BSP DEPUTY GOVERNOR GUINIGUNDO TALKS STRAIGHT ON PHILIPPINE ECONOMY
    The world financial crisis has affected all countries, including the Philippines.  Â
    Deputy Governor Diwa C. Guinigundo of the Monetary Stability Sector of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) will give a straight talk on Philippine economy during the luncheon fellowship of the Philippine Bar Association on 25 February 2009 at 12 noon at the Manila Golf and Country Club, Forbes Park, Makati City.
   Mr. Guinigundo manages the monetary policy and operations as well as the regional monetary affairs, currency management and international operations of the BSP. He is a member of the Advisory Committee to the Monetary Board and represents the Bank in various international meetings of the ASEAN, South East Asian Central Banks (SEACEN) Executives’ Meeting of East Asia Pacific Central Banks (EMEAP) and South East Asia, New Zealand and Australia (SEANZA). He was Philippine Alternate Executive Director at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington, D.C. in 2001-2003 and Head of Research at the SEACEN Centre in Kuala Lumpur in 1992-1994.
   He graduated cum laude AB Economics in 1976 at the University of the Philippines, Diliman, and took up graduate studies in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science in 1984. He authored several articles on inflation, exchange rate, and various economic development issues.
